Facts About Eagles

Eagles are admired the world over as living symbols of power, freedom, and transcendence.
There are more than 60 different species of eagle.
Eagles are different from many other birds of prey mainly by their larger size, more powerful build, and heavier head and beak.

Most eagles are larger than any other raptors apart from vultures.
Eagles have unusual eyes. They are very large in proportion to their heads and have extremely large pupils. Eagles’ eyes have a million light-sensitive cells per square mm of retina, five times more that a human’s 200,000.

While humans see just three basic colors, eagles see five. These adaptations gives eagles extremely keen eyesight and enable them to spot even well-camouflaged potential prey from a very long distance.

In fact the eagles’ vision is among the sharpest of any animal and studies suggest that some eagles can spot an animal the size of a rabbit up to two miles away!
Many eagle species lay two eggs, but the older, larger chick frequently kills its younger sibling once it has hatched. Adults do not intervene.
The Harpy Eagle and the Philippine Eagle have wings that spread 2.5m across and use their massive, sharp talons, to kill and carry off prey as large as deer and monkeys.
In Greece, Golden Eagles eat turtles, dropping them from great heights onto rocks to break open their armoured shells.
Although most eagles are carnivorous the African Vulturine Fish-Eagle is primarily a vegetarian, feeding on rich oil palm fruits.
Some eagles are built with short wings and long tails enabling them to hunt in the tight confines of a forest, while others are have short tails and broad long wings allowing them to soar high above open plains and water.
Golden eagles in Wyoming have been observed foraging areas that cover 100 square miles.
To defend their territories and attract a mate, bald eagles put on spectacular aerial displays including death-defying swoops and seemingly suicidal dogfights that involve locking talons with another bird and free-falling in a spiral.
Eagles are admired the world over as living symbols of power, freedom, and transcendence.
The spot on which an eagle landed dictated to the ancient Aztecs the place where they were to build a city.
In some religions, high-soaring eagles are believed to touch the face of God.
Native Americans historically gave eagle feathers to non-indigenous people and also members of other tribes who were deemed worthy.
Although many eagle populations are dwindling as a result of habitat destruction, hunting, and pollution, conservation efforts are helping some species such as the Bald Eagle which has made a dramatic comeback in the U.S. over the last few decades.

We will pick 5 facts out of this context and attach some certain human significance.

The Eagle has 60 different species while Mankind has atleast four different (human behavioural) species namely; Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy and Phlegmatic.
Many eagle species lay two eggs, but the older, larger chick frequently kills its younger sibling once it has hatched. Adults do not intervene while Mankind bears children according to how they desire in number. When offspring of Mankind quarrel, the Adults intervene.
Although most eagles are carnivorous the African Vulturine Fish-Eagle is primarily a vegetarian, feeding on rich oil palm fruits while Mankind hunt, farm, and cook and preserve their food.
To defend their territories, Eagles display territorial stunt and dangerous flights, also seemingly suicidal dogfights that involve locking talons with another bird while Mankind build strong gates and doors, bullet proof cars and dresses, security cameras to defend their territories, jets, nuclear weapons, armored tanks, laser and Satellite e.t.c.
Male Eagles attract a mate, also called ‘Bald Eagles’ put on spectacular aerial displays including death-defying swoops and free-falling in a spiral way while Man attracts their female by talking to them, being friends with them and expressing their caring character over certain period of time.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

DEPRESSION AND SPIRITUAL TREATMENTS

Depression as a topic alone has been seen majorly as the work of Psychologists and Counselors. When an individual is facing the challenge of being depressed most of the time it is quickly analyzed and categorized under several names…

Depression and Spiritual treatments in some parts of the world have proven to be a none-scientific approach and therefore, not acceptable. The question really is about the background of individuals and a nation at large, so such topics as depression and spiritual treatments will surely differ.
Depression as a topic alone has been seen majorly as the work of  Psychologists and Counselors. When an individual is facing the challenge of being depressed most of the time it is quickly analyzed and categorized under several names but on this note, I’ll mention two and explain in few lines because that is not our focus.
Having intrinsic knowledge about basic fault of temperament in the name of depression is very vital and pivotal in the approach of treating the menace. But, if spiritual treatment is not added to the mix, it will definitely not be balanced.
Persistent Depressive Disorder
If you have depression that lasts for 2 years or longer, it’s called persistent depressive disorder. This term is used to describe two conditions previously known as dysthymia (low-grade persistent depression) and chronic major depression.
Bipolar Disorder
Someone with bipolar disorder, which is also sometimes called “manic depression” has mood episodes that range from extremes of high energy with an “up” mood to low “depressive” periods. When you’re in the low phase, you’ll have the symptoms of major depression. Medication can help bring your mood swings under control. Whether you’re in a high or a low period, your doctor may suggest a mood stabilizer, such as lithium.
What is the Spiritual Treatment for Depression
In this note, being a Christian, I am taking my cue from the Grand Book, the Bible for proper reference.
Jesus who is the key focus of the entire bible said something in the book of,
John: 10:10b, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more more abundantly.”
Depression will deny you of the life Jesus Christ promised and has done through his death and resurrection on the cross which we today call salvation.
I believe that there are two major reasons for depression which are disappointment and lack of fulfillment.
Trust which is a prerequisite of happiness has an opposite, disloyalty which can also be referred to as Disappointment. When you trust something or someone enough to do something or even yourself but fail, sadness is the first reaction which is completely normal.
“It’s normal to feel down once in a while, but if you’re sad most of the time and it affects your daily life, you may have clinical depression.”
Let me rephrase this statement made by WebMD, that it is normal to feel sad once in a while due disappointment in this note, but when it lingers for so long then it becomes a problem or like WebMD put it, ‘Clinical Depression’.
The books of the bible written by different Spirit inspired authors surely drew that inspiration from one source, as we see evidence in 2Timothy 3:16,
“All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, , for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works”
What has this got to do with Depression? Simple, since God Almighty inspired men of old to write out his intentions, which we have proof that God is wiser than all of humanity, then we should believe the words of the scripture which are for our benefit and cure to all manner of depression as it is with this article and the best spiritual solution to all manner of depression.
How does this kind of spiritual treatment deal with Disappointment that leads some people to depression?
MATTHEW 6:31-34
Matthew 6:31 (Old King James Version)
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or Wherewithal shall we be clothed?”
I like the way the Message Bible responds to this question I made the Old King James Version bible to pose; it said,
“People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.

Mathew 6:31 (Message Bible Version)
Then, one of the most popular scriptural statement emerged.
33. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ”

Matthew 6:33 (Old King James Version)
Check the Message Bible version as I will end this series of scripture with.
33. “Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”
34. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

These ain’t just mere words, but as earlier explained, words from God, revealing his hearty intentions towards all of humanity. Depression which is sometimes from disappointment of lack of basic needs of life is being expressed here that it has a source and in abundance. This Spiritual words carry a definite solution, doing God’s work first, that is, making your number one priority.
What do I mean by putting God first?
Off course, literally, put God first. The Wisdom applied here is based on knowledge of the potential God has placed in you to have anything you want accordingly.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA

57 years ago, the British Colonial Masters had no other option by agreement, granted this freedom the Fathers of this great country fought for. In her freedom I was birth and the fight for this same freedom continues.

Happy Independence day Nigeria, Adedeji;
My Country, my Nation, my Nigeria,

My homeland, my federal crib,

My room, my parlour,

My kitchen, my Rest room,

My joy and pain,

My dream, my desire,

I know a few of you might have heard a lot of negative things about Nigeria my Country but if you have one knowledge of the good things my Country has and can do and will do, you will marvel and your doubts will be perplexed.

57 years ago, the British Colonial Masters had no other option by agreement, granted this freedom the Fathers of this great country fought for. In her freedom I was birth and the fight for this same freedom continues.

She is 57 today, don’t be too quick to judge her or even dare write her off. Like a seed planted 57 years ago, growing into a BIG TREE, her seedlings appearing, her forest emerging and the forces of her offspring rising like an army. Don’t dream and wish us canal for the sakes of the ‘Wolves’ we have amongst us who are selfish and stone hearted to lead the resources of this amazing Country in her best positive direction, but, N0! All for their pocket, well, I know all hope is not lost.

By the Grace of God, as long as I am alive, the ever long dreamed Nigeria shall arise strongly.

God bless Nigeria.

Adedeji.

Vision vs Ambitions

Like I said, “Vision is the evidence of the unseen reality of the future” therefore in the place of setting a goal, vision is paramount to seeing that goal burst into reality. Vision in her real image is not something you birth out of opinion because it is not a self-help orientation. In a place where you are told to create a vision for something or for your life, you must consider the odds. That’s what’s makes a vision a vision and a lot different from revelation. I’m not saying man cannot create a vision but the criteria for vision is to show consideration for the odds, i.e events, people and things and yourself.  Another criteria is that Vision is not created for the most qualified but for those that have the passion. Visions can be fulfilled  or terminated. It is not a function of the vision rather the author.

Now, Ambition. Though they may sound alike but their difference is very clear. Ambition is often self-opinion driven and lacks the weight to carry others along, therefore talking about odds, she will never be in consideration. Ambition is like you walking beside your horse, leaving her back empty of even a load. Ambition is that goal created out of self qualification such that only qualified people may occasionally tag along with the career of the vision. Note: Ambition is not the opposite of Vision, rather a secondary unit of Vision and a twin theory of goal.

The Future in Flux

“There is no Present without the Past, therefore, there is no Future without the Present. Every day event is a movement, either backward or forward. To say that the Future is in Flux simply means a movement forward, into the future in this note. It also means an ongoing change. The Future in Flux must therefore be a deliberate act, not just day dreaming which I approve. Everything about the Future in a logical sense is in the Present but put it more divinely, everything needed about the Future is actually in the Past. Always move towards it having the Past as an Osis not a past life. Not the Past that you think I am referring to, I mean a divine Past. Man cannot by himself be a source to himself. Believe thus in Jesus! Like flowing water, the Present keeps moving into the Future. Keep Moving!”
