THE POWER OF IMAGINATION
Genesis 11:6 ‘And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.’
Imagination is a very powerful tool in the human vices, it is way beyond technology, infact, it birth technology. Imagination is sometimes a gift; while others practice it as at when needed.
Looking at the above scripture quoted, you will notice one word that is paramount to our topic today, which is, ‘imagined’. God saw men coming together in unity to do something. This is not about prayer; this is about a large group of people having one mind and one imagination towards doing something.
A certain dictionary states the definition as this; the image making power of the mind; the act of creating or reproducing ideally an object not previously perceived; the ability to create such things.
From this above definition as well, we can note that imagination includes creativity of something that mostly doesn’t exists or in existence and needs advancement. This will result into this fact, that whatever you cannot imagine you cannot have. If there is one thing that imagination does is to ignite your passion for doing something, mostly unrealistic. If there is one thing that can be linked to Imagination is Faith.
Imagination Linked to Faith
What is Faith? This is total believe in the provision of God without any visible or reasonable evidence. OR we go straight to the bible and check the most widely used biblical definition of Faith;
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1.
Since Imagination includes creating what you desire out of an invisible pattern of provision with physical limitation, then Faith which includes the working great power of God is the best reception for the fulfillment of your imagination. We have two basic type of Imagination and why they work and offcourse turn out differently.
GOOD AND BAD IMAGINATION
Good imagination will take it source from God and bad imagination will take it source from the Devil.
‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.’ James 1:17
This scripture above proves that anything good will always come from God. Therefore, if you have any good imagination, Praise God because that good imagination will ultimately lead you to finding your path in destiny through Christ Jesus and leading others to Christ through. Note; any good imagination that is void of you living a life patterned to Christ and leading others to Christ is as well as a bad imagination no matter how sweet it might seem to humanity. See Job 32:8…
‘The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:!0
The scripture above proves a certain fact about one of the attribute of the devil, he is a thief and his threefold mission is simple to identify if we are watchful, to steal, kill and to destroy. Thereby we know bad imaginations and it source, the devil. Never be deceived, what you sow is what you will reap. Falling into Temptations, Fear and Death all start with your mind which is able create images of whatever evil thing you might have consciously or unconsciously proposed in your heart. Therefore, be warned, you bad imaginations will hunt you and others around you.
HOW DO YOU HAVE AND MANITAIN GOOD IMAGINATIONS
‘For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.’ Proverbs 23:7.
Whatever seed you nurse in your heart will germinate and grow into a big tree one day. Every day you nurture it with your thoughts, words, and actions. You first have to conceive a good thought and create it with your mind, and then you birth an imagination of what you desire to see in reality and able to work it out by Faith.
HOW TO AVOID BAD IMAGINATIONS FROM YOUR MIND
‘Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.’ Proverbs 4:25
This sentence made by wise King Solomon if well understood will make us know that he was speaking in both literal terms and metaphoric stands that we should look straight, meaning we should be focused and not look left or right to avoid distraction. This comes from within, our mind. There is a need to focus our mind via our imagination on certain things. Truth is this, bad imaginations will come but the best way to avoid is to focus your thoughts on something good. Only good can overcome evil.
