“One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.” Ecclesiastes 1:4
THIS Generation is a topic I designed by the grace of God to allow us have a godly look into our generation. There are a lot of things to talk about. First, we will take a look into the Religion of this Generation, Distraction of this Generation and Role Models of this Generation.
The scripture above talks about generation, saying that one generation passes away and another comes into play and also passes away. It would seem to us that when it comes to the continuous state of mankind, it goes and rolls in circles. No matter how long a man lives, he will definitely leave the Earth and go to the place where he came from.
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7.
It is so unfortunate for this generation because of the way we think. Even though we know we can’t live forever on Earth, yet we don’t live as if the life has any value to be protected of. Some say they want to enjoy the best of their lives by doing whatsoever that pleases them. They believe in doing such that they would have accomplished more things and fun in life before death can take them away.
“Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9.
That scripture is not just referring to the male factor alone but also the female gender. The word rejoice there means, make your heart merry to do whatsoever you please, let your joyful heart dictate your pace in life in the days of your youth. This disposition of the heart in joy or unnecessary or deliberate happiness will make a man think whatsoever he does is normal or what should be done either right or wrong. Take note, it said, ‘walk in the ways of your heart’, meaning whatsoever comes to your heart, good or evil do. But not without a caution, ‘God will bring whatsoever you do into judgment.’
“For God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14
This only introduces the first of three phases of this generation we going to talk about in future pages.
What is the Religion of this Generation?
IN my own opinion, and from what I have seen and experienced, the Religion of this generation is the ‘Fear and Ignorance to serve God to the Letter’. A lot of things has replaced this essential ways of serving God, all the process of serving God has been diluted by theories and philosophies of men.
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:8.
The Fear and deliberate Ignorance of this generation towards God has now become a Religion. What is Religion? Religion is a group of people who believe in the worship of a deity and living in the doctrine of such worship.
NOW, you might wonder, what or who is the deity this generation is worshipping? Fear and Ignorance towards God is what they are worshipping. Let me sum that up in one word, ‘Rebellion’. This Generation worship Rebellion. Fear and Ignorance leads to rebellion. When You think you can do anything without the acknowledgement of God, first, you are proud and on your way to Rebellion!
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…Without natural affection, trucebrakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2Timothy3:1-5.
It is even terrible to hear that the so called Christians are also involved in this act. They profess to know God but deny the power, meaning, they deny the precepts that portray the nature of God. The amazing thing about God is that if you don’t follow with the whole of your life, then you are a Rebel to God.
This is where we’ll draw the curtain; we shall by the grace of God continue next week…stay tuned to Amen Radio and Keep on Believing.
